Caged Bird

I sing my song
Of nights alone
And times being wronged
While all along
I sing my song
You listened close
With open ears
And sympathetic tears
But powerful fears
Keep you close but out of reach
So I sing my song
Of hearts being breached
While lynched I leaked
Into the leaches belly
Lifeless eyes
I sing my song
Over again
You know the tune
And from another room
You sing my song
I hear you dear
I raise the tune to drown you out
And vocals tear
My singing stops
I sit and watch
I sit and hear
You sing your fears
I think a song
You sing along
You amaze me so
By things you know
Things not said
And when my vocals bled
You held my head
And sung a song
That changed my life
You sung a song
That changed my life

Listen To the Lyrics Wednesday

Common I Have A Dream Lyrics
[Chorus - Will.i.am and Martin Luther King]
(I am happy...I Have a Dream) I got a Dream
(That One Day ) We gonna work it out out out
(That One Day ) We gonna work it out out out
(That One Day ) We gonna work it out
(I Have a Dream) I got a Dream
(That One Day ) We gonna work it out out out
(That One Day ) We gonna work it out out out
(That One Day ) We gonna work it out
(I Have a Dream) I got a Dream
(That One Day) That one day
(That One Day) I'ma look deep within myself
(I Have a Dream) I gotta find a way...
My Dream Is To Be Free
My Dream Is To Be
My Dream Is To Be
My Dream Is To Be Free

[Verse 1]
In search of brighter days, I ride through the maze of the madness,
Struggle is my address, where pain and crack lives,
Gunshots comin' from sounds of Blackness,
Given this game with no time to practice,
Born on the Black list, told I'm below average,
A life with no cabbage,
That's no money if you from where I'm from,
Funny, I just want some of your sun,
Dark clouds seem to follow me,
Alcohol that my pops swallowed bottled me,
No apology, I walk with a boulder on my shoulder,
[ Lyrics found on http://www.metrolyrics.com ]

It's a Cold War - I'm a colder soldier,
Hold the same fight that made Martin Luther the King,
I ain't usin' it for the right thing,
In between Lean and the fiens, hustle and the schemes,
I put together pieces of a Dream
I still have one

[Chorus]

[Verse 2]
The world's seen me lookin' in the mirror,
Images of me, gettin' much clearer,
Dear Self, I wrote a letter just to better my soul,
If I don't express it then forever I'll hold, inside
I'm from a side where we out of control,
Rap music in the 'hood played a fatherly role,
My story's like yours, yo it gotta be told,
Tryna make it from a gangsta to a godlier role,
Read scrolls and stow slaves,
And Jewish people in cold cage,
Hate has no color or age, flip the page,
Now my rage became freedom,
Writin' dreams in the dark, they far but I can see 'em,
I believe in Heaven more than Hell,
Blessings more than jail,
In the ghetto let love prevail,
With a story to tell, my eyes see the glory and well,
The world waitin' for me to yell "I Have a Dream"

[Chorus]

Valentines Day

Yeah, it is what it is but I am not the type to just go all out anymore since I have been single for so long-ugh, ages. But I am back into making my strawberries covered in chocolate routine. I can’t say that I have any one to celebrate with but I will just see how everything turns out. I hope that all of you have special people to share this day with, as for me I think I will be doing my first open mic today. Later loves, take care of your hearts for me.

All Manner of Remorseless Pieces of Metal

Hit sits with his eyes closed
Head lowered and arms crossed as if he was wearing a straight jacket
Legs folded Indian style
And a grin more sinister than the blackest

Images flash through his mind
He sees his self with fanglike teeth
Standing with his arms as if he was reaching backwards
Howling at the moon with dismantled corpses beneath his feet

Blood cover his mouth
In the darkest of night
His bones and skin stretch and dislocate as he transforms to his true form
He sees himself as a descendant of the shadows and it feels so right

All manner of remorseless pieces of metal cannot cause the devastation he wants to deliver
Metal rain shower cities and communities do not bring the same effect
"Suffer", he bellows and as the ground rumbles under the presence of his voice
All lives are to be taken until only blood soaked grass blades are left

He opens his eyes and raises his head
Laughing that these thoughts have pushed pure ecstasy through his veins and he succumbs
He looks at his self who stands on the other side of the cage an asks him
Why do you let me out, I just want to have fun

The Butterflies Light

So we made this all inclusive, me the Son of Judah and her the Daughter of Sarah
The children of the Father but in a much different era
Come sister, the morning sun is yawning and its smile lights the path that we must take
We have work to do, come on sister i know that youre awake
They are looking for our Father and by all we must show them the way
Come sister we must leave before the tree's shadow shortens and we lose some of our day
We must see the baker, and then the blacksmith
Through the town center to the forest and through the rift
Back to our time
You back to your home and me to mine
Ever connected through the love we share
But as of now sister we have work to do before we get there
"I here you little brother, just give me one more sec.
I have to fix my hair."
You have not done that yet
"Youre so eager little brother
You carry our fathers passion"
I love you big sister
With a love that is of our father
Everlasting

Observation

I wish my arms could erase the pain that you feel
Or all the things in life which you wished you didn't have to deal
The many times that you just wanted it all to stop
That it was into my chest you fell the many times you dropped
But I don’t want to unearth the pain or the shame
Cause when you died inside, love i did the same
Sleeves of your shirts hold a thousand fold tears
A heart that has left a body dormant over the years
All i have to offer to you are grass blades and autumn leaves
And the thought of knowing that I’ll never leave
My presence is not negative and I do intend to hurt
You are my little song bird and I’ll protect as you remain perched

The Rabbit's Hole

I reach
Tears Fall
I reach
I fall
No support
I fall
Abysmally
I fall
Catch my tears
Surpass them
I fall
Lasting pain
Wrap myself
Right then left
Cover my chest
I fall
Free
I reach
You let me
Fall

The Awakening 2

I regain consciousness as the roof drips a thick sweet liquid onto my face
I take time in gaining composure, I think I know this place
Slowly I wipe this substance form my forehead and into the vortex behind my lips
Remnants of Paris, Mallon, no I think...I think it was my African trip
I casually rise to a sitting position
In submission
A familiar sound approaches from behind
Roaring waters, so I close my eyes and open my mind
It hits
Quick
The same substance overwhelms me as I open my mouth and it rushes in
The submission is released as this tidal wave attaches to my skin
She releases her legs and I surface
She’s chagrined
She watches herself drip from my chin
I’m chagrined
I can’t resist deploying my tongue to pull it back in
We smile
She knows my style
Pearl, clit, lips, in succession
Devour the clit and I gain more possessions
She smiles
I smile

Reflections For My Day

Real heroes are men who fall and fail and are flawed, but win out in the end because they’ve stayed true to their ideals and beliefs and commitments.
- Kevin Costner

“Real isn’t how you are made,” said the Skin Horse. “It’s a thing that happens to you. . . It doesn’t happen all at once . . . It takes a long time. That’s why it doesn’t happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept.
Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in your joints and very shabby. But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are real you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.”
- “The Velveteen Rabbit or How Toys Become Real” by Margery Williams
(Hey!, I remember this movie)

Right actions for the future are the best apologies for wrong ones in the past. Tyron Edwards

He who is drowned is not troubled by the rain.
Chinese Proverb

Do not fear going forward slowly; fear only to stand still.

Exhale

Departure
Long awaited, I release what I hold within
Escape through my lungs into the breeze
Whirl and swirl in the wind, escape with the season
Escape me and this
Live a long fruitful life apart from your parasitic bind to me
I free you to a world that can accommodate better than I
Escape
